Set up your kitchen display
Updated July 4, 2026
The kitchen display (KDS) turns incoming orders into live tickets on a tablet — no more shouting orders or losing paper. Setup is: sign the tablet in, set up your stations, done.
Set up the tablet
- Open the KitchenRush kitchen app on your tablet.
- A manager signs in once with their admin login — email and password, a phone code, or Google.
- Running more than one location? Pick which location this tablet belongs to. It starts receiving that location's orders immediately.
- Day to day, kitchen staff use their personal PINs on the tablet — the manager login just sets it up.
Stations
If your kitchen has more than one station — grill, fryer — create them in the KDS section's Stations tab and assign menu items or whole categories to each. Every order item routes to its station; as long as you've set a default station, anything unmapped lands there so nothing falls through (with no default station set, unmapped items just aren't tracked — so set one). You can also flag a station as the expo: items don't route there, but the expo view shows the whole order converging from every station for final plating and a quality check.
Who signs in on the tablet
Kitchen staff sign in on the tablet with their personal PIN — see Add your team for setting PINs.
